IndieBerlin can’t get over Serpentwithfeet! From his last European tour, where he graced Berlin with his presence in April at the Prince Charles, Serpentwithfeet, also known as Josiah Wise, has released his new album Soil, that is full of more emotional, moving, transformative, queer and modern gospel than ever before. Coming back to Berlin on 7th November at Lido Berlin, here’s how you can get your hands on some tickets to see this walking art piece perform live.

Known for his unique appearance of an over-sized septum ring, black makeup, his pentagon tattoo on his forehead, and his newest tattoo addition ‘Deacon’ across his neck like a priest’s clergy collar, as well as his stunning voice that radiates melody and pitch like nothing else.

“I called all your ex-boyfriends and asked them for a kiss/ I needed to know if they still carried your fragrance”

We first heard of him in his release of his single blisters, in 2016, followed by four ethers with its poetry, refined yet wild orchestral background, and aesthetic sound and visuals within his music video. This year, his latest release soil with 11 new tracks of emotional, queer gospel has already had hundreds of thousands of plays on Spotify and has developed darker and deeper lyrics and ideas than ever before.

His most recent music videocherubim, depicts a beautiful, queer love story in such an aesthetic manner – with performance art, he transforms his words into deeper meaning.

with themes of the ephemeral and ever-lasting blended with modern ideas and deep love, this artist is not one to be missed this year!

Fragrant, for example, is about a boyfriend or lover passing, and out of mourning calls the dead’s ex-boyfriends to just smell him and have part of him again: “I called all your ex-boyfriends and asked them for a kiss/ I needed to know if they still carried your fragrance”.

His performance back in April proved that he is a visual artist performer as well as an avant-garde vocalist, with themes of the ephemeral and ever-lasting blended with modern ideas and deep love, this artist is not one to be missed this year!
