Veggienale & FairGoods fair : the “eco meets vegan” philosophy is finally coming to Berlin

by | Environment, Independent Lifestyle

Vegetarier- und Veganer-Messe "Veggienale & FairGoods"

Events like the Veggienale & FairGoods fair are more and more commun as environmental awareness spreads and the amount of plant based diets around the world increases. Vegetarians only are said to be 375 million worldwide and represent 10% of the european population. It is a fact that rising animals for the purpose of feeding humanity requires massive amounts of land, food, energy and water and causes immense animal suffering. Globally, animal agriculture is responsible for more greenhouse gases than all the world’s transportation systems combined.

The Veggienale & FairGoods fair is therefore a place that brings together environmental actors in order to create a united and stronger community fighting for a clever consumption of food.

The Veggienale & FairGoods fair is finally in Berlin!

The Veggieale & FairGoods fair takes place on 25th and 26th of January and is held for the very first time in Berlin after travelling around the world. The event has been travelling since 2015 around Germany in order to spread awareness on plant-based lifestyles and ecological sustainability. They invented the very unique concept of « eco meets vegan » that you will finally will be able to discover this month at the Loewe Saal in Mitte.

« We want to show the versatility of green life and the impact that anyone can have on our planet with IMG_7514-1simple daily shopping » – Daniel Sechert, founder and managing director of the event

The spectrum of the event ranges from organic food, upcycling, green electricity, fair trade, sustainable investments, e-mobility to ethically correct fashion. The fair is open to inveterate vegans and ecos, but also to curious minds who have decided 2020 will be a year of sustainability and change for the planet. It is the perfect occasion to know more about the options you have in order to positively act in favor of your environment. And for that, you are not left alone as the Veggienale organized more than 30 activities and action points open to every visitor such as cooking shows or masterclasses by famous vegan youtube activists Gordon & Aljosha (VEGAN IST UNHESUND channel).

What you’ll see there

In addition to the market and its exhibitors, you’ll have the chance to enjoy the conference room as well as a children’s theatre that will welcome the 30 and more planned activities and meetings. On the program : lectures, cooking shows, workshops and educational programs for kids. And of course, you will be able to enjoy sustainable and vegan food at the event.

Many different brands, products, companies and organizations will be present at the Veggienale. All professionals in the field of vegan nutrition, natural cosmetics, green fashion, finance, ethical insurance, upcycling, green electricity and much more.

Even tough you are already hyped by the event and have purchased your ticket, here is a look at some of their first day’s scheduled activities:

10:45am: To enlighten your day with motivating thoughts, the Veggienale planned for you a fascinating conversation on what you can do for yourself, your well-being and benefit the planet at the same tome. The conference will address how there is no sustainable consumption  possible  without self-updating and how self-efficacy is not environmentally and socially sensible.

11:30am: Another very interesting talk about the solution for animal suffering and our climate. In this lecture, you will learn how PlantAge is promoting a paradigm shift towards animal-free and climate-friendly agriculture.

2:00 p.m: The Felix Blum cooking show: Leaf to Root

In this very unique activity, Felix Blum will teach you how to use and simply cook leaves as well as stems. A cooking show representative of a culinary culture in which we are inspired by nature and appreciate its diversity.

4:00 p.m: It’s time to act – food waste – an ethical and ecological disaster

Food waste is a global problem. Every year, 1/3 of all the food produced in the world isn’t consumed, which is both an ecological and ethical disaster. The SIRPLUS organisation encourages politics and businesses to rethink their policies and invest in important contributions to more sustainability and climate protection.

12:15am (in the classroom): Real green electricity and how to recognize it

Since the term green electricity is not protected in Germany, it is difficult for consumers to understand what green electricity really is. Veggienale activists are here to guide and help you through it!
