48 Hours Neukölln – Berlin’s biggest free art festival on this weekend

by | indieBerlin

Yes folks it’s that time again – when Neukölln opens its cultural doors to show what this neighbourhood has become – a hotbed of incredibly diverse and overwhelmingly impressive art and music…48 Hours Neukölln is Berlin’s biggest free art festival, featuring over 1,200 artists in some 250 locations…

We especially like “Unterwegs” – where the festival-in-a-festival Junge Kunst NK (young art NK) presents art from children and teenagers, with 30 youth centres and cultural hotspots open their doors for people to check it out and to take part…

Plus the Musikschiff – where there’s a bunch of music going on, on Saturday and Sunday…highlights are Saturday – the wonderful Moa McKay, who we were lucky enough to experience just last night at the Basement Bash FDLM Edition in Auster Club, along with a line-up of great up and coming bands.

Sunday make sure to check out Berlin’s reigning indie queen Kitty Solaris – who apart from making music herself also runs the indie label Solaris Empire as well as putting on the legendary Lofi Lounge Wednesday nights in Schockoladen…

Take a wonder through the neighbourhood and enjoy yourself despite the suddenly dodgy weather…all information and locations of venues etc can be found at the 48 Hours Neukölln website!
