No less than six evening sessions of Kesselhaus Acoustics will guarantee you a beautiful summer in the city – for free!
In Hamburg Knust Acoustics have had great success every summer for years. Indie, jazz, r’n’b, pop, singer-songwriter – different styles for everyone for free. Last summer we were in great luck when the concert concept arrived in Berlin under the name Kesselhaus Acoustics. It wasn’t difficult winning over the people and tourists of Berlin, so this year the sessions are back. They’re set outside in the cool and cozy atmosphere of Frannz Biergarten at the KulturBrauerei and the first session is Tuesday, 29th of May.
Beautiful music, beautiful people
Why are these concerts free to attend? Well that’s simple: The acoustic sessions are a declaration of love to the world of music. Six Tuesday evenings; each with three concerts of 30 minutes – that’s the deal. Afterwards you can make a donation. Beautiful music, beautiful people, beautiful outsides. You’ll want to be there, that’s for sure. You’ll want to bring your friends, family, and even your secret lover(s). You’ll probably also find future friends among the audience. That’s how good this is. What’s not to like? It’s simply the best, and that’s why indieBerlin is media partner.
his music has an honest soul
On Tuesday, 29th of May Màni Orrason, Onk Lou, and Dorit Jakobs, will complete your day. Màni Orrason is only 2o, from Iceland, and made his first hit pop/folk hit when he was only 16. He’s been praised quite a lot and you’ll understand why if you give this young man a listen. He just released the new album I Woke Up Waiting that underlines why he’s talented – yes, it’s cheesy to say this – but his music has an honest soul. His voice is comfortable, full of feeling and directness. His words will hit you. Keys, guitar, bass and drums – the set-up is simple and seen before but the music isn’t.
With almost 100 concerts a year Onk Lou is also really something. He’s played the streets of Italy, festivals of Denmark, discos of Russia, and living room concerts of Berlin. He’s a bearded man with amazing guitar skills and a voice that sounds somewhat like a mixture of Justin Timberlake and Jamie Cullum (yes, it’s true!). His music is a summer fresh funky pop thing you’ll want to hear.

If you don’t already know Dorit Jakobs she’s a woman with a voice you should get familiar with. What you’ll hear are clever German lyrics and sharp thoughts in a catchy pop/rock cocktail that’s beautifully held together by her feminine voice. Don’t miss out on this evening – or any of the six Kesselhaus Acoustics sessions.
Concerts already start at 6pm so work next morning is definitely not a reason not to go. Also, these evenings will feel like weekends, so treat yourself with this and just enjoy the summer. But be there on time, it ends at 8pm. See you there!
