indieberlin visits // Beaches Brew Festival

by

Imagine you are in a place of surreal beauty..picturesque beaches go for miles, perfect blue waves wash up as  the tide comes in, wine is as cheap as water and the smell of fresh pizza lofts through the air every afternoon; a place where each evening bands like Dirty Beaches, King Tuff, Beach Fossils and Chris Cohen play while the sun sets behind you and a warm breeze drifts through the air – for free.

Yes my friends, a place like this does exist, and it’s called Beaches Brew Festival. Recently I took a little trip down to Italy to visit this utopia, and it did not disappoint. Belmont Bookings and Bronson Produzioni collaborated to create the festival taking place in Marina di Ravenna, Italy. The vibe of the relaxed atmosphere and intimacy of the venue creates something really special for the visitors and artists. Blissful afternoons spent at the beach are only succeeded by moonlit evenings featuring some amazing artists like The Dream Syndicate and Brothers in Law. Amazingly enough, the entire festival is completely free to enjoy, and with the line-up they had, it’s almost hard to believe. This was the line-up for this year:

The Dream Syndicate
Beach
Fossils
Foxygen
Dirty
Beaches
How
To Dress Well

If it sounds like I’m gushing, I am. Given that most of the massive festivals around Europe are usually headache to get to, expensive, overcrowded, and the most impersonal venue possible, this is a dream. I can only hope that it will stay a well kept secret ( at least for a little while.) For more info about the festival visit Belmont Bookings, and to view more photos, visit their blog here.
