Este, Danielle and Alana, the three sisters forming the groupe HAIM, are the hidden and blessed children of Fleetwood Mac and Alanis Morissette. In their new song Hallelujah, the trio signs a soft and sensible ballad accompanied with strong poetic lyrics and a minimalistic music video in which their artistic beauty is unveiled to the world. It all starts with a guitar, then a voice that transports you into this raw theatre in which the three sisters walk (it isn’t a HAIM video if there is no walking). We hear and feel throughout the song : “Why me? How’d I get this hallelujah?”. We first identify with the lyric as we feel elevated by the song, but the lyric is entirely dedicated to the love of surroundings. Alana Haim explains: “To me it’s a song about relying on the people around you and reflecting on how different life could be if those people weren’t around.”
