How we became a label, signed the best band in Berlin and did our first release

10.5.19: Knowing the risks, indieBerlin fearlessly signs Banglist

In 2008 indieBerlin opened its doors as a blog featuring independent music/art/culture in and of Berlin. As 2018 dawned we launched indieBerlin Events and indieBerlin PR. Things were afoot. Fast forward to 2019 and we are proud to announce that we have just launched ourselves as a record label too.

Why did we do it? One reason: we finally found a band that we fell in love with and stayed in love with, and who we knew were just primed to explode.

If you’ve been reading indieBerlin for a while you would have been able to chart this love affair, from their appearance at Basement Bash, the monthly concert series that indieBerlin Events took over in the beginning of 2018, to their playing at the indieBerlin ten year anniversary party, to now.

Now being today, Friday 10th May 2019, the day that Banglist finally released their much-awaited debut single Fearless.

Fearless is a slice of indie pop that with the help of producer Cameron Laing at Famous Gold Watch Studios in the north of Berlin turned into a brooding, cinematic instant classic. With razor-sharp guitar lines, grooving bass and drums and Asdis’s showstopper vocals rising up out of swirls of darkness and breaking through towards the light, Fearless is set to light up Spotify and let everyone know that there’s a new challenger for the world stage coming out of Berlin today.
