Indietronic, spectacular duo MGMT will be performing in Berlin this Sunday

by | indieBerlin

MGMT, the American and genre-bending band, will be in Berlin performing at Colmbiahalle this Sunday. Founded by multi-instrumentalists Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser, these indie artists are not to be missed!

The music of MGMT is consistently being inconsistent, creating its own subgenre of indietronic with elements of folk, rock and pop in every song.

The pair started their journey to popularity with legendary songs and compositions like Kids and Time to Pretend from their Grammy award-winning album Oracular Spectacular, released back in 2007.

Switching it up two years later, MGMT came out with a more psychedelic rock-pop experience in their following album Congratulations. The next album, self-titled MGMT, was another highly experimental art piece, blending pop and electronics to create varying levels of avant-garde music.

This year, MGMT have produced another genre-bending album to look up to – Little Dark Age – spectacular and dark themes, such as the song When You Die, discussing death in a pop-folk-synth style, and the track to their latest music video Me & Michael.

Another hit from their new album Little Dark Age, named after the album has a very experimental composition that transcends multiple genres and blends surreal synth, deep bass, and faded vocals similar to that of Tame Impala.

On their fantastic, European tour for this interesting and experimental Little Dark Age, we will see MGMT perform in Berlin at the infamous Columbiahalle starting at 8pm! Check out the Facebook event!
