Hailing from the same dreamy multiverse as Mac Demarco and Yellow Days, ruminative and daydreamy vocals coloured with sleazy rhythms, slacker rock guitar lines and hypnotic synths make up the distinctive sound of People Club.
Formed in Berlin in late 2017, the band were brought together over a love of intimate storytelling and lavish effects, and after sell-out performances in Berlin and London will be releasing their much-anticipated first official release before the end of the year. indieBerlin: How does the songwriting process work for you / in your band?
people club: It varies. Someone might bring in a real simple demo or loop idea and we just groove that and fool around with it till it sounds like us. Other times we’re just jamming to warm up and something magic happens and we build on that.

people club: Sarah is (very) afraid of oranges.
indieBerlin: Where do you get your inspiration from?
people club: Loads of stuff. The problems that our generation face and finding a way in this world… We talk a lot and not just about music. That inspires the tunes. Also silly stuff like dog memes haha.
indieBerlin: What music do you listen to when you’re touring?
people club: Artists like Jungle, Frankie Cosmos, Frank Ocean, The Beatles, Men I Trust, Radiohead, Goat, SZA, Marvin Gaye, Puma Blue – all top shelf stuff.
