Joyce & Black Pope double bill: Italian indie meets Irish indie @ Loophole 1.10

by | indieBerlin

Joyce came up out of nowhere to insert their claim to the throne: hard-hitting indie rock with singalong choruses galore.

They pit their might at Loophole this Tuesday night, facing off against Black Pope, the Irish rockers based in Berlin who have been making waves recently. Irish or Italian? Two takes on indie, two takes on rock n roll, and a whole ton of high energy.

After Joyce’s singer Jody returned to his native Italy from a year in Berlin, he teamed up with an old friend on guitar and Joyce was born. Shortly thereafter bassist and drummer were added to the mix, adding a faster rhythm and an energetic groove to the heavy guitar and fierce melodies of the two. They went on to win a few band contests, performed recently at the Young Talent Stage of the Open Source Festival in Düsseldorf and opened the concert of Omar Pedrini of Timoria.

Now they’re here to take on Berlin with two gigs – first in Loophole with Black Pope on the 1st, and then at Marie Antoinette this Sunday 6th.

Black Pope grew too big for their Cork origins and shipped over to Berlin last year. Working tirelessly away in the studio to get their album just right, they’ve broken out to play a few choice gigs including indieBerlin’s own Basement Bash where they bowled everyone over.

Should be a good night…we’ve got two pairs of tickets to win. Write to us at win@indierepublik.tempurl.host and you might be in luck!

Otherwise go to the Facebook event to pick up special price early bird tickets or pay 5/6€ on the night…
