If you’ve been following us for a while you would know of our ongoing love affair with Nosoyo…
…the German/Dutch indie pop duo that moved from Amsterdam where they got together, to Berlin where they found their spiritual home, a few years ago. Their first single 6 or 7 Weeks (2015) was the most perfect independent pop song you could imagine, and they proceeded to follow this up with a string of perfectly phrased, danceable, intelligent alternative pop songs, in the midst of which they also put out their debut album Resonate.
I have to be honest, I couldn’t figure out for the life of me why they weren’t already famous, they seemed to have hit that perfect formula of creating intelligent pop songs that stick in your head, make you want to dance, and yet somehow don’t become completely annoying after the hundredth time you hear it.

I can only put it down to those old label/organisation problems that musicians like to discuss moodily over alcaholic libations in darkened corners of back alley bars; the good news is that Nosoyo has swapped label to the highly respectable Embassy of Music (formerly Ministry of Sound, daughter label of the eminent London label Ministry of Sound UK and whose other artists include such luminaries as Bjork, Moby, Judith Holofernes, Hundreds and more).
Which brings us to their brand new single Highness, the first off what will be their highly anticipated second album. Nosoyo are truly one of those bands that everyone’s been talking about for a while, wondering when their breakthrough will come, so assured do they seem of scaling the heights of pop stardom (and without gathering any ego problems along the way).
