Planningtorock comes to Berghain’s Panorama Bar on Wednesday 15th May

by | indieBerlin

Multimedia artist and DIY provocateur Planningtorock will be gracing us with their presence at Berghain next Wednesday, in what’s sure to be an innovative and intriguing set.

The vanguard otherwise known as Jam Rostrom – born in Bolton, but currently based in Berlin – has been at the forefront of the conversation on gender fluidity, politics and sexuality for the past two decades. Questioning the binary perimeters places on our bodies, there’s no shying away from controversial topics here: Planningtorock is famous for radical approaches to perceived cultural norms, and we’re excited to see what’s in store for us next week.

Having been squirrelling away writing and producing a shiny new record, next Wednesday’s performance in the main room will consist of the latest Powerhouse show, and is billed as more of an intimate live experience than a traditional concert.

De-genderising vocals and other manipulations of this vein are trademarks of Jam’s distinctive sound – refusing to conform to expectations, you’re never quite sure where Planningtorock’s music is going, but we like it that way.

Alongside Jam, there’ll be a melting pot of non-binary, trans-identifying and queer special guests, who’ll be sharing their art in what we’re certain will be a curious and exciting performance.

Planningtorock’s show has been funded by Hauptstadtkulturfonds Berlin, and is co-produced by Schauspiel Leipzig, Mรผnchner Kammerspiele, Berghain and Wien Kultur.
