Brooklyn-based psychedellic rock mavens, Psychic Ills, played the 8MM Musik Night at Bassy and it was magical to say the least. For one thing, it was one of the most packed shows I’ve been to lately, plus it was on a Tuesday which is quite impressive.  The atmosphere was similar to what you would imagine an opium den to be like; a familiar haze filled the air and sleepy looking attendees sauntered around while swaying to the music. A pairing of heavy guitar an hypnotizing vocals created a musicial harmony, while keeping an experimental feel. The magestic musical selection was a perfect addition to one of the first warm spring days,  creating a high standard to live up to for future 8MM Musik Nights. The band is currently signed to Sacred Bones Records – home to other musical favourites such as Zola Jesus and Cult of Youth. For more info about Psychic Ills visit here.
