Still Corners – apre club comedown soundtrack par excellence

by | indieBerlin

A strange mix of desolation, resignation and fettered joy

Still Corners, the musical electric duo of songwriter/producer Greg Hughes and vocalist Tessa Murray, have been lulling people into false senses of security since 2008; their last two albums have been on Sub Pop and very well received. Now they’re back with new single ‘Horses at Night’, the perfect apres club comedown music. Written by the sea in England, ‘Horses at Night’ murmurs of that strange mix of desolation, resignation and fettered joy.

Still Corners’ third full length album is due for release in 2016 and is the follow up to 2013’s Strange Pleasures and 2011’s Creatures of an Hour (both via Sub Pop).

Watch this space for indieberlin’s upcoming interview with the duo.

– Rolling Stone Magazine

“A vast, dreamy atmosphere that washes over you while you’re listening.”
– Pitchfork

“A record that finds intimacy in minimalism, and lets the space in the music build to an atmosphere almost as crushing as the audible moments.”
