Superorganism electro-pop is rebellious and wonderful on stage

by | indieBerlin

Among multi-coloured raincoats and eclectic tambourines, Superorganism could easily turn out to be the new cool kids from the neighbourhood. Their electro-pop track list took over the Festsaal venue in Kreuzberg last Friday 23rd with a magic and rebellious synchrony that will keep buzzing in our ears for a long time.

The outcome of a show where all of its integrants wear shinny ponchos would be at risk with any other band, but Superorganism offered Berlin the thrilling of a pulse multiplied by eight on a stage that was almost too modest for their powerful presence singing about the insubordinations of the XXI century.

The London based band is exactly that group that makes you want to dye your hair blue and be as eccentric as the world doesn’t want you to be.

“Nobody Cares”, “Night Time”, “Everybody Wants to Be Famous” and “Something for Your M.I.N.D”, are a few of the songs that sounded last Friday in a concert led by Orono, an implausible breezy 17 years old girl that empowers all the pop collage vocals of Superorganism.

the sweetness of the vocals and the clear harmonies around their aura made everybody in the place impatient for more

Their creativity is cartoonish and excessive, but the sweetness of the vocals and the clear harmonies around their aura made everybody in the place impatient for more: more songs, more kinky choreographies, more intimacy and tunes with the resonance of rain and cell phone ringtones mixed in between.

Less than a year ago, they were completely unknown, just another group of faces in the crowd running into each other in music forums and sharing Soundcloud demos. Now they are touring around Europe and scheduled to play 40 concerts in one year.

Emil, Tucan, Ruby, B, Seoul, Robert, and Orono are the voices from the future

The energy that this collective from Mane-London with members from the UK, Japan, New Zeland and Australia spreads gives a whole new meaning to the principle of harmony and originality. Emil, Tucan, Ruby, B, Seoul, Robert, and Orono are the voices from the future telling us to stop taking selfies and start making synchronized dances more often.
