Win 2 tickets to Jawbreaker at Astra Kulturhaus – May 4th, 2019

by | indieBerlin

After a 21 year hiatus, legendary American punk rock band Jawbreaker returned to touring in 2017. Finally in Europe, they’ll playing at Astra Kulurhaus this Saturday, May 4th, 2019 and indieBerlin is raffling off a pair of tickets!

Sometimes referred to as a “thinking man’s Greenday”,  Jawbreaker was formed between friends Blake Schwarzenbach, Adam Pfahler and Chris Bauenmeister while in college at New York University. Known for Schwarzenbach’s super raspy voice and deeply personal lyrics, they garnered a cult following with the releases of their album’s Unfun (1990) and Bivouac (1992).

After touring with Nirvana in 1993 and then signing to a major label in 1994, they received harsh backlash from their most diehard fans, eventually causing turmoil in the band and leading to their breakup in 1996.

After rare shows across the country, their long awaited reunion has brought them across the pond, where  Jawbreaker is set to play only a select number of shows in various capital cities.

Rumors have it that the band has started working on new material for a new 7th inch, or possibly even a new album. indieBerlin is hoping to hear some new stuff this Saturday, but we’re mostly just happy to hear songs that we’d never before thought we’d have the chance to hear live.

If you want to enter our raffle for a chance to win a pair of tickets, email us your full name at win(at)indieberlin.de and tell us your favorite Jawbreaker song.
