Win Tickets To L.A. Witch Promoting Their Debut Album at Musik & Frieden!

by | indieBerlin

“Debut Album? How can that be?” you ask. It seems like L.A. Witch has been around for a while and is definitely already respected in the independent music community (they’re playing at Levitation in Austin this year, for example).

They’ve toured extensively and internationally over the past three years and their sets have been noted for their professionalism and tight, intuitive sound. So how come they didn’t put out their first self-titled release until September 8th, 2017? Apparently, they were waiting for the right moment, and it would seem that moment finally came based on the wonderful reviews they’ve garnered so far.

If you haven’t heard of L.A. Witch yet, don’t let the name fool you. The trio of Irita Pai, Sade Sanchez, and Ellie English may dress in alluring modern-day sorceress garb, but their music is so much more than the trendy “urban witch” rock that has been popular of late. Nor should you strictly believe the somewhat elusive category ascribed to their sound on their Facebook page, “REVERB-SOAKED PUNKED OUT ROCK”.

they sound closer to some forgotten 60’s garage gem infused with the kind of simultaneously sun-soaked and blasรฉ vibes that only the long-lost golden days of L.A. can offer

While they are definitely “rock”, reverb-heavy, and pull some elements from punk, their influences are much more varied (from desert rock to goth, psych, blues, etc) and they actually sound closer to some forgotten 60’s garage gem infused with the kind of simultaneously sun-soaked and blasรฉ vibes that only the long-lost golden days of L.A. can offer.

Come see for yourself this coming Wednesday, March 21st at Musik & Frieden. Grab a ticket or better yet, win one from Indie Berlin (write us something sweet @ win(at)indieberlin.de)!
