Your new favorite underground gem is just about to launch their 6th edition of Basement Bash on the 29th of September at Marie Antoinette. This seasons opening night is oriented around indie-pop. Featuring none other than Swedish pop’s Ruby Empress, along with Montag Mania and Berlin-based Daremo. But before we get into the details, let us give you an insight of what this festive night called Basement Bash is all about.

Following the success of their launch back in February, Basement Bash started small at IPA Bar. The idea was created by four Music Business students from BIMM Berlin, all from different countries (Anna Dungal, Chloé Astruc, Iva Misovic and Joel Shani) who had a craving for good quality music that hasn’t yet reached the mainstream audience.

Music that hasn’t yet been found but that everyone should be looking out for.

It was simple, they wanted to promote music that has not yet been found but that everyone should be listening to and looking out for. A series of monthly showcases, boosting up-and-coming talents. It’s about building a platform that will host a mixture of fresh and authentic talent with established bands that all of us music lovers have heard of through the grapevine.

So far, Basement Bash has hosted five club nights, each featuring a special theme of the night –  “British Invasion”, “Electronic Grove”, “Garage Bash” and so on. Attracting the attention of their fellow followers, the buzz started growing bigger and after being shut down due to loud noise at late hours at their second installment, Basement Bash started thinking about moving to a larger venue. By the fourth Bash, IPA Bar was too full and so they took a leap of faith and moved to Marie Antoinette for the closing season in May.

It was a wild night that only polaroid pictures could capture

Creating a special night of “Best of” of all of the installments Basement Bash hosted more than 200 people in their closing season with a special performance from UK’s very own, The Wholls, along with crowd favorites Askers Dodge and Ponte Pilas. It was a wild night that only polaroid pictures could capture, and they literally did.
