Known for composing harmonic landscapes from celestial sounds and diverse recording techniques, BROCKMANN // BARGMANN are going to perform their purely instrumental debut album ”Licht” this Saturday after 9 pm at the Neukolln gem Internet Explorer.
Franz Bergmann (guitar; ex Camera member) and Timm Brockmann (keyboards) shine a light on a planar, melancholic, rhythmic, yet never bland sonic journey that celebrates the warm sounds of keys, analogue synthesizers and guitars.
The LP is a collective result of pushing stylistic boundaries, improvisation, playing with patterns and effects in the studio workings. The krautrock tandem aligns themselves with contemporaries such as Ulrich Schnauss or Rival Consoles, elsewhere they revert to the ferocity of Camera. At moments, there are resemblances with Jean-Michelle Jarre.
“Licht” (released on Bureau B) oscillates broad aspects of intense emotional realms and is an honest representation of the artists’ inner worlds. Expect things to happen when Brockmann // Bargmann play live.
