Win tickets to W. H. Lung at Musik und Frieden on 19th September!

Now that summer’s well and truly over, we’re itching for the Berlin gig scene to rub its eyes and wake up – and we’re offering tickets to W. H. Lung’s next show to get it started.

An exciting synth-pop outfit fresh out of sunny Manchester, the trio offer richly layered textures and experimental compositions, with innovative melodies to boot. With a name derived from a Chinese supermarket in their hometown, you’re never quite sure what to expect with this intriguing new group – and their latest record Incidental Music reflects this quite loudly.

They’ll grace the stage next Thursday at Musik und Frieden – a sprawling yet intimate venue in the heart of Friedrichshain. It’s the perfect backdrop to their unique sound, and we’d urge you to get your grubby hands on tickets before they inevitably sell out.

Their shiny new album is the product of two years spent squirrelling away with their synthesisers, and it’s something you should definitely pay attention to. With 70s-esque psychedelic grooves and high-energy rhythms, it’s a hugely alluring record – and new subtleties will arise with every listen.

The band will be paying a visit to Berlin before embarking on a mini-tour of the UK, so now’s the perfect opportunity to catch them live. If you can’t possibly wait another week, feel free to check out their Facebook and Twitter pages to receive updates on all the curious going-ons in the W. H. Lung microcosm.
