Indie artist Jenny Hval has a very distinctive voice and we always love what she comes up with.
Hailing from Norway, Jenny Hval studied in Australia, which is where she sang with bubbling indie bands like iPanic and Folding for Air. Back in Norway she released her debut album in 2006 for which she won Norway’s equivalent of a Grammy award, an dshe’s been a bit of an indie darling since then.
About her new song Freedom she says:
“it seems weirdly clear and pure. I can’t really defend it. Or perhaps it is myself I can’t defend. The song is necessary. It just reminds me of the fact that I am not.“
