Looptroop are known for their use of samples, and their scathing attacks on social issues. They have been at the forefront of hip-hop in their native Sweden for over 25 years now. To celebrate their 25 years together, they released 25 songs in 25 weeks in 2017.
They were also inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame last year. But though last year was definitely a celebratory one for the group, their approach to music hasn’t changed.

2005’s Fort Europa perhaps saw the peak of their political writing. On the title track, Promoe’s lyrics liken the tough immigration policy of Sweden to the Berlin wall. The chorus condemns the policy of “Fort Europa, the so-called utopia”, saying that “you can’t find no culture” within its walls.
Now, Looptroop might be getting older, but they still have all of the swagger and punch of old. “Loose After Midnight” is full of hype. So what are you waiting for?
