Brand new EP from The Indian Queen

by | indieBerlin

One of the main claims to fame that punk has is that its just not going to compromise. No sir. The original punk movement said that anyone could pick up a bass, a guitar and some drums and 3 minutes later you could have not only a band but your first single, and that’s with fag break included.

No compromise are exactly what Berlin punk band The Indian Queen are about, except that they didn’t bother with the bass guitar. Everything has been scraped bare and left to fend for itself. Surprisingly the vocals would only need a bucketload of allgoodvibes and infectious enthusiasm to be considered your standard soaring britpop chorus type thing but no, there’s that lack of compromise again. I think we’ll just leave it as it is thank you very much say brothers Abuneza and Naz Lezar.

Their new EP Perfumed Isolation makes no bones, pulls no punches and sticks to what it does best, and that’s exactly as it should be. All bow down to The Indian Queen.
