Dnte inspires again – new EP Floating out now

by | indieBerlin

Dnte first came up on our radar a few years ago when I was playing a gig at King Kong in Berlin and needed a support act last minute. He turned up and turned the place on its head with his unique take on hip-hopesque mixes. And he turned out to be a really nice guy as well. We’ve kept roughly in touch, while he’s moved to Brighton and now (I think) is back in his native Hungary. He has a brand new EP out entitled Floating.

It spans the gap between experimentalism, classical music and hip-hop

As in his earlier work, it spans the gap between experimentalism, classical music and hip-hop – or “wonk-hop” as some people have it. With off-kilter beats, strange textures and delicate piano weaving occasionally in and out, what marks him apart from the rest is his intelligence and subtlety of feeling. And that he’s obviously comfortable as few others are, existing in the space between hard and heavy beats and quirkiness.

His track “Stoned” reachedย #11 in the Top 20 downloads on XLR8Rโ€™s webpage

And Dnte is definitely making a name for himself in the electro world – with a slew of releases, collaborations and remixes under his belt, his track “Stoned” also reachedย #11 in the Top 20 downloads of April on XLR8Rโ€™swebpage.

“Airy,vocal-referencing pads lead the way down a path of off-kilter beats, wavering synth melodies, and trippy atmospherics” – XLR8R

Watch this space for our upcoming inteview with Dnte: meanwhile enjoy these tracks from the EP and GO OUT AND BUY IT. Go on. Get crazy.
