A late night conversation in Berlin between veteran filmmakers Robert Grant, Denis Lyons and Brad Richards sowed the seeds for music video production company Twisted Reel, whose website (www.twistedreel.com) is launching next week.
The three hit upon a real struggle facing artists trying to reach their audience in today’s saturated digital landscape. With nearly 46% of all on-demand streaming happening on Youtube, it’s now by far the world’s most popular music platform.

The demand that creates for a steady supply of sharable video content means cash and time stretched artists are feeling the pressure to produce some, a process that can quickly become stressful and expensive.
In their collective decades as filmmakers, the Twisted Reel team had seen first hand the boost a great music video can give an artist’s career. They’d also developed a devastatingly efficient way of working. Co-founder Robert Grant explains: ‘by being resourceful we could do much more with less, with all that time saved going into making our films really visual and creative.’

There’ll be a song slam, featuring some of Berlin’s finest indie talent including Rachel Glassberg +/- The Disasters, Drunk at Your Wedding, Mike Featherstone, Fyers, Nik & The Mojos and David Gaffney.
There will also be performances from Joe Wilkinson Music and Joey Ryan, the premiere screenings of their freshly produced music videos, and dancing ’til the small hours with BBREX on the decks.
