US artist Steve Lyons at the Berlin Gallery Weekend in the Heckmann-Höfe

by | Art

After the tragic theft of sixteen of his paintings from his atelier in Berlin a month ago, Steve Lyons, one of the best-selling artists in the American north-east, is back for the Berlin Gallery Weekend to prove you can’t keep a good artist down. The show will run for one week under the motto “Steve Lyons Resurfaces” in the Heckmann Hofe and will be curated by international arts manager Boris Coronado.

The exhibition will focus on Lyons’ series “Cape Cod Reflections” through which the masterful use of impasto technique creates what has become known as “sculptural paintings”. This unique method blurs the divide between representational and abstract styles creating simultaneously a visual and tactile experience. Lyons’ proprietary technique of sculptural expressionism has, for many, changed fine art painting.

The Heckman Hofe is a courtyard of shops, cafes and galleries that lie in Mitte between 32 Oranienburger Strasse and 9 August Strasse, connected to the street by pedestrian walkways.
