Does it annoy anyone else that no films seem to come in under the two-hour mark anymore? This is a constant bugbear of mine, and I waste so much time searching for a Netflix watch under 120 minutes that by the time I find something, I may have just opted for the three-hour action thriller in the first place.
A group who certainly cannot be accused of wasting our time are the somewhat aggressively named psych-rock trio DJHAGY. Emphatically assuring us that they are in fact a three-piece band, rather than an actual DJ, the outfit’s latest single release, ‘This Is What You Want’, comes in at a slim two minutes and thirty seconds.
You could microwave your dinner in that time, or even go for a quick jog.

The track is, as it happens, rather impressive, with a bubbling bassline overlaid with distorted guitar and moody vocals reminiscent of The Cure or The Stone Roses. The simplicity is the key, and the song essentially encompasses one rolling rhythm, that leaves you (dare I say it) wanting to hear more.
When they do come to town, I’ll even take a night off Netflix.
Hailing from the Netherlands, the band aren’t booked to grace the venues of Berlin just yet, but are definitely one to keep an eye on if this month’s single is anything to go by. When they do come to town, I’ll even take a night off Netflix.
