indieBerlin interviews Lexodus, the first rapper to perform at Basement Bash

If you live in Berlin you might have seen Lexodus perform on the street, or at least you passed by. Lexodus collaborates with a fellow artist Skid, together they make music that will most definitely give you a braingasm. Lexodus is the first ever rapper to grace a Basement Bash line-up.

“We wanted to have the genre early on, but we also wanted to find someone with an authentic live performance and not someone that would just rap on a backing track, this is why we chose Lexodus” says Basement Bash. Catch him and Skid on the 26th Oct. @ Marie Antoinette, doors open 8:30.

indieberlin: Tell us a little bit about your musical background

Lexodus; My father is ODB and my mother is Cher, with parents like this Lexodus was born into making bangers.

indieberlin: How did you get together as a band?

Lexodus; Skid saw me street performing, we stayed in touch and started working together, after time, a flower blossomed and from its sweet pollen, the bees made honey in the skull of a lion. After we fed this to a couple mates we were bound to make music together.

indieberlin: If you had to describe your music to a deaf person, what would you say?

Lexodus; Imagine drinking tutti fruity smoothie while bathing in oat milk and at the same time your toes are getting licked by a cat while a burly bearded queen is in the corner twerking.

indieberlin: If your music was a movie, which genre would it be in?

Lexodus;  Rom Zom Com

indieberlin: What music do you listen to when you’re touring?

Lexodus; recently I have been listening to Black Sabbath, Bongripper, TV on the Radio, Tyler the Creator, Outkast, and Prince

indieberlin: What was your biggest stage fuck-up?

Lexodus; This one time at band camp, my penis fell out.

indieberlin: Do you prefer to play big festivals/stages or smaller club gigs?

Lexodus; each has their own charm, but as long as the sound system is on point then I am happy

indieberlin: With whom would you never share the stage with?

Lexodus; Jesus Christ

indieberlin: In ten years you look back to today and think:

Lexodus; I should never have eaten that purple crab

indieberlin: Do you dream in color or black and white?

Lexodus; color, I recently had a dream where clouds turned into large tropical type flowers and a golden pirate spaceship came soaring through the flower clouds shooting cannons. Chaos ensued and it was beautiful!
