Mexican Radio & i-Taki Maki double bill at Loophole presented by indieBerlin

Two of the coolest underground bands in town are playing Loophole in Neukรถlln this Friday 28th June in a double bill to make your eyes pop.
Mexican Radio are a new trio that emerged out of the ashes of underground legends Theย Blood Arm who toured UK and Europe intensively and put together a faithful following – or rather emerged via their The Fall cover band Der Sturz (The Fall in German :)). The guitarist and bassist left the band and they thought, great! Now it’s perfect! Turning challenges and limitations into strengths and opportunities, the trio (two from California, one from Berlin) decided to wear set uniforms (presently red overalls with a white lightning stripe – at least for live shows; they have a variation on the uniform for rehearsals and meetings) and are proceeding to set the city alight with their brand of synth punk – no guitars, no basses; they recorded their upcoming album over one weekend on analogue tape with the bare minimum of takes and absolutely no overdubs. In short, they’re on a mission!

i-Taki Maki
I-Taki Maki is an Italian Alt-Indie Duo, formed in 2012, based in Berlin since July 2015. The group consists of Go-Mimmi-Go (vocals, drums, percussions & melodica) and strAw (vocals, guitars & harmonica). Their music is a mashup of altrock, slowcore, and post-punk with minimal arrangements.

I-TM has been on tour since their last album โ€œA Place to Leaveโ€, was released last January, performing in some of Berlin’s most important venues – Rosiโ€™s, Monarch, Badehaus, Dunker Club, Madame Claude, Noize Fabrik, Culture Container, Artliners, Lagari and many more in Berlin – but also Leipzig, Cologne, Bochum, Hamburg, Luebeck, Prague, Budapest, Amsterdam, Ferrara, Rome).
